Public property records point to about 15 properties worth roughly $9 million: 5 in Texas (McKinney, two in Austin, College Station and the Frisco house reporters place him living in), four luxury condominiums plus an acreage property in Utah, three homes in Florida, a resort cabin in Oklahoma and an ocean-view lot in Hawaii. His 2026 opponent, James Talarico, said Paxton owns 11 homes; a fact-check largely confirmed that count, and later reporting from The New York Times found the true figure is higher. Many of the properties sit inside the Esther Blind Trust Paxton created in 2015.

Three. AP's July 2025 review of public records found mortgages on a suburban Dallas house and two Austin houses that each contained statements declaring that property the Paxtons' primary residence — a designation that lowers the interest rate. Records also showed the couple collecting homestead property tax breaks on two homes simultaneously in 2018, which Texas law does not allow. Paxton has not been charged in connection with these filings.
